Stepmoms and Miscarriage

Miscarriage, infant loss, infertility- For whatever reason your arms are empty, I send gentle knowing hugs, sweet friend. October 2nd, 2005 we lost Rhyan. Followed by my health completely crumbling, the journey through infertility, tons of anger and tears. You know.

There are plenty of blog posts about miscarriage. (Here is my favorite) Here's why I'm writing- because we are stepmom's too. And that just adds an extra special dash of pain, doesn't it? Because while I stared at one empty bedroom supposed to be a nursery, the other bedroom had a healthy little boy in it. And I love him to the ends of the earth! But someone else gave him to my husband. And there is just a special pain that comes with that.

Deuteronomy 31:8 "Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you." He will go ahead of you. Such a promise! The God of heaven and earth will be with you. Another amazing promise! He will not fail you. He will not abandon you. Amen and amen. Sweet sister, just rest in it. 

When the waves of loss and anger come crashing in, hold on tight to these promises. My God is a man of His Word.
