Fighting the Good Fight

By Melanie Anthony, Author of "Daily Bread for the Starving Stepmom"

As believers we are called to walk out our salvation, our journey of faith.  What does that mean?  It means that we will go through seasons and through it we are defining our character, faith and belief in God.  Walking out our salvation is part of the journey.  Once saved, we walk forward into what God has for us and has called us to do.  He has a plan for us, one of good and not evil; one to prosper and bless us.  (Jeremiah 29:11)

Our walk of salvation though consists of the seasons of life.  Some more difficult than others, some more defining than others and some just blessed and joyful.  But together they make up our lives, our salvation and establish our faith and belief system in God.  Our foundation in which we base all decisions and learn everything.

God never promised us a problem free life but he does promise us hope in Him and the tools we need to fight and stand undefeated.

Have you ever felt like the fight would never end?  As if you were just too tired to fight any more?  And when you were almost at your ropes end you find the strength to fight?  When you are fighting and walking into what God has called for you, your destiny, there will always be a fight and at times that fight can be furious especially when you’re getting closer and closer to your destiny, calling and fulfilling God’s purpose for you.  When you’re affecting lives for Jesus and for HIS sake there will always be a fight.  Have you ever wondered why the fight?  Why does it have to be so hard?  The answer is simple.  It’s because you are a threat to the enemy and he doesn’t want to see you succeed and above all things see God glorified in your life.  This battle we are in is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil. (Eph. 6:10-12)

Dear Smama’s, we are in a battle here and we need to fight and fight hard.  God has given us his armor so that we can take a stand against the devil’s schemes.  In the end, Jesus will be glorified and the devil will be defeated.

I’m going to fight and keep fighting!  Are you with me?  Scream and yell at Satan and tell him to flee!  And remember that greater is he that is in YOU than he that is in this world!  Satan doesn’t like it when we put on God’s armor and prepare ourselves for battle!

Know that God has a wonderful plan for your life but you will have opposition.  However, God has overcome ALL opposition so that we can have life and life abundantly.  So today, stand firm and see the deliverance of the Lord and remember that you are not alone.

Ephesians 1:18-20
“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the HOPE to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints and his incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.”

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of POWER, of LOVE and SELF-DISCIPLINE.”
